Activate eSIM card online on your smartphone or smart tablet easily. Follow the steps to activate Jio eSIM in India on your eSIM-supported smartphone or smartwatches.

Type GETESIM<space><32-digit EID><space><15-digit IMEI> and send it to 199 from the Jio number you wish to activate eSIM on.

(If you are outside India, send the SMS to +917021999199 instead of 199 for an eSIM request. For that, the Jio number you wish to upgrade for eSIM must have an active international roaming plan to send SMS and receive incoming calls. Note that SMS and incoming calls will be charged as per the applicable roaming rates in the host country.) 


Step 1

To give your consent, type ‘1’ and send the SMS to 199. With that, you'll receive the eSIM profile and a QR code via SMS and email respectively.

Step 2

Within 10 minutes, you will receive an IVR call from +91 2235072222 on your Jio number. Just press ‘1’ to give your consent on the call. You will have to wait for 2 hours while we process your eSIM request.



Step 3

Great, your device is eSIM compatible.
