I am a postpaid user. How can I activate International Roaming (IR) after reaching another country?

You can buy the IR pack even when you are in an international location. After the pack purchase, your phone will stop receiving signals once the activation process begins. Your phone will have to be restarted for your IR settings to be processed.

After purchasing a pack (Prepaid & Postpaid) or for IR Activation (Postpaid), in the below-mentioned countries, if you are unable to register to the network, then follow the below steps:

For iPhone:

Step 1 :
- Go to ‘Settings’, select ‘Mobile Service’ and opt for ‘Jio SIM’. Over there, under ‘Network Selection’ you can switch the Automatic on.
- GGo to ‘Settings’, select ‘Mobile Service’ and opt for ‘Jio SIM’. After that, use the toggle button to enable ‘Data roaming’.
Step 2 : In case SIM does not register to network automatically, select the network manually from the handset’s Settings menu. Just go to ‘Settings’, select ‘Mobile Service’ and tap on ‘Jio SIM’. Over there, under ‘Network Selection’, switch off Automatic and select the preferred operator from the list (refer to the list of operators in the visited country).
Step 3: In case the SIM still does not register to the network after following Step 1 and Step 2, then switch iPhone off International IMSI. To do that, all you have to do is, go to ‘Home’, select ‘Settings’ and tap on ‘Phone’. Then under the ‘SIM Application’, you can switch off ‘International Roaming’.

For Android:

Step 1: Ensure that the 'Preferred Network' type is set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE on your mobile device.
Step 2: If the device does not register automatically, then turn off 'Automatic' and select 'Available network'. For that, you need to go to ‘Settings’, select ‘Mobile network’ and tap on ‘Jio SIM’. Over there, under ‘Network Operators’, you will be able to switch off Automatic and select the preferred operator (refer to the list of operators in the visited country).
Step 3: If still not registered, then look for Jio4G/STK available on the device’s home screen and select STK/Jio4G Menu
- Within STK/Jio4G, select ‘International Roaming’ and switch it ‘OFF’
- After that, wait for 5 minutes and your device will register to the network
